Advertising policy

DogBreedsFinder is supported in part by advertising. This page explains how advertising works on the site, what we will and will not accept, and how it relates to our editorial content.

Editorial independence

Advertisers and ad networks have no input into our editorial content. They cannot request that we favour a breed, suppress information, write a particular kind of article, or alter ratings. Our editorial team makes decisions independently.

Where ads appear

Adverts appear in clearly defined slots within our pages, including after the opening section of an article, between long sections of content, in sidebar regions on larger screens, and near the foot of pages. Adverts never appear in places that would mislead readers into thinking they are part of our editorial content.

Ad networks we use

We work with Google AdSense and may add other reputable networks over time. When you consent to advertising cookies via our cookie banner, these networks may set cookies and similar identifiers to personalise and measure adverts. Sponsored and affiliate content

At present we do not run sponsored articles or affiliate links inside breed pages. If we add either in future, every sponsored piece will be clearly labelled as "Sponsored", and any affiliate links will be marked so readers can distinguish them from editorial recommendations.

What we will not accept

  • Adverts promoting puppy mills, illegal breeders, or unverified pet-sale platforms.
  • Adverts that make medical or veterinary claims that are unsupported.
  • Adverts targeting children.
  • Adverts that use shock imagery, false urgency or other deceptive tactics.
  • Adverts that auto-play sound or trigger non-consensual downloads.

Reporting an ad

If you see an advert on the site that breaches the rules above or that you believe is misleading, please tell us via the contact form, selecting "General enquiry" and including the page URL and a brief description.
