Accessibility statement
We want DogBreedsFinder to be usable by as many people as possible, including those who rely on assistive technology, keyboard-only navigation, or different sensory needs.
What we aim for
We design and build to the WCAG 2.2 AA standard as our target. In practice, this means:
- Pages can be navigated using a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a "skip to main content" link.
- Text content uses sufficient colour contrast against backgrounds.
- Images carry meaningful alt text where they convey information.
- Interactive components (modals, expandable FAQs, form controls) are built with appropriate ARIA roles and labels.
- The layout reflows comfortably from 320 px wide upwards, and respects browser zoom up to 200%.
- We respect
prefers-reduced-motionfor animation.
Known limitations
We are a small editorial team and the site is iterated regularly. Some specific areas we are working to improve:
- Some legacy data fields may include long strings that benefit from clearer formatting.
- Certain interactive features such as the breed comparison table can be wide; we are improving the mobile layout.
- Where third-party adverts appear, we cannot fully control their accessibility.
How to report an issue
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please tell us via the contact form (select "General enquiry") and include the page URL, what you were trying to do, and what assistive technology you were using. We will respond within five working days and aim to fix issues as quickly as we can.
