You can mould it in your own way. On the other hand, older dogs already have a preformed temperament. So you can see as to whether the dog will get along with the family or not. It may also have had basic command training and house training previously. However older dogs also have their share of flaws. They may be suffering from some diseases or they may have also suffered mentally with their previous masters. This may affect their behavior. So they may require some form of treatment and care. Only half of your work is done after you have chosen the right dog for your family, the other half is still left! And that is to make the dog a member of your family!
