The dog has been with man kind for thousands of years. However as an animal dog was first animal to change cultural activity of mankind in history. Thanks to it, man was able to hunt in a more organized and efficient way with this animal in that time. Later on the dog helped with the development of herding which led to stockbreeding and became most faithful friend of human being. Among all kinds of dogs, Doberman is an elegant, power packed, muscular and a medium sized dog.
The Doberman has a beautifully wedge shaped head, a well arched neck that flows into smooth fitting shoulders which blend into a firm strong topline. It has a well proportioned chest, a short back and a lean, muscular neck. Its hard, short-haired, close-fitting coat comes in black, black & tan, blue-gray, red, fawn and white. The hair is short, thick, hard and tight to its body. Its teeth are strong and close in a scissors bite. Eyes are dark with a lively, intelligent expression. If the tail is not docked it grows a tail somewhat like hound. The tail is usually docked at the age of 3 days. Its legs are perfectly straight. The walk of the Dobermans must be elastic, elegant, and cover a lot of ground. While white markings are considered a fault in some clubs in others it is accepted. The ears are usually cropped (cut at the age of about 12 weeks). The pup's ears have to be taped for a couple of months to make them stand up. I believe England has banned the cropping of pup ears and the docking of their tails. Lately, many breeders have left their pups natural. Connect this with a muscular rear assembly and a well turned stifle, with tight fitting skin covered with short close fitting coat and you have a clean crisp silhouette of a dog that possesses an air of nobility, an alertness to his surroundings, and the courage and mobility to respond to any situation. The Doberman is a dog that comes with a built in high energy level and watching this short backed galloper run free along the beach, in a field. They are describing the gracefulness, speed and beauty of a deer. Dobermans are one of the most recognizable breeds in many countries. This is a breed of relatively recent origin. The Doberman or Doberman Pinscher is a breed of domestic dog, commonly used as guard dogs, watch dogs, or police dogs.
